Birthdays

Used to have so many bdae celebrations, had quite a number of them at my place. But now, I do not have a place for myself, so I did not initiate as many (or should I say, none?).

Everyone have their own ways to “celebrate” now.. Some with husband, wive, some with bf, gf. Some have buddy to drink, dance, club. some choose not to bother people.

But anyhow, I’m not too much of a birthday person, bday celebration is never a big thing to me. I just loves the meet up, gathering, makan and sharing. So, friends, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Don’t need a celebration, just find an excuse to meet whenever you are free, and I shall share my secret on “how to look skinny and STILL have a tummy!”. Cheers!

fold and staple

I used to do it weekly, in my high school days, for my school works. They were all written on loose-leaf paper that are so thin and can break easily. I had to fold the corner and staple them, so they can stay together, stronger.

Nowadays, the papers are much better, it really doesn’t make sense to do so. Sometime they are so thick, I can’t staple them when the corner are folded.

As usual, I visit Wikipedia to check if there’s any interesting article about staple. Well, can’t say I’m surprise, but it seems people around the world is the same, making the same old silly prank…

It’s located outside Raffles City Shopping Centre, facing Raffles Hotel, nearest Raffles City exit is near Timberland.

It’s been a long time I had an above average western food. I don’t use perfect too often..

We had Organic Mushroom Soup ($9.90) as our starter. It’s slightly too salty, but I like the egg inside. Yes, egg in mushroom soup! The egg was something between hard-boiled and soft-boiled. This is the first time I tried this combination! But it taste great.

Then, we had 2 main courses. One of them was Fish & Chips, we ordered Australian Barramundi with Beer batter ($19.90, It’s their best seller according to the waiter). I love it. You can taste the fish (how often do you really enjoy the fish in fish & chips? They are always deep fried but tasteless), and it’s yummy! The sauces (vinegar, mayo and tomato) complement the food. And the thick-cut fries are something we both preferred. One down side, SM find it a bit oily.

The other dish was Capellini Vongole ($17.90). I like it because their vongole is big (wonder where was it from..), Capellini (thinner spaghetti) was tasteful. Nicely done!

My last day was on 5th September 2008, and the team surprised me with a “farewell cake”. Yeap, it’s a strange way to “celebrate”, but luckily I managed to stop them from putting the candles! LOL…

But it reminds me more than that…

Not too long ago (maybe), I never thinking about my past. I mean, what’s there to think? Future, beautiful future, keep coming. There’s so much to hope and dream. Why bother the past?

Yesterday, Siew Mei met her neighbour, a boy about 16.

“wow.. you are so tall now.. which year are you studying now?” she said

She told me “Last time, the boy was just such a small boy!!”

“Girl, those words only come from aunties, seems like you are getting old.. ” I told her jokingly..

And today, I’m reading a post reminiscing his good old day.

I’ve worked for 4 years, and I enjoyed (spent all) my earnings.

Now it’s time to change. ‘coz I decided to pay back my loan, rent a flat outside and throw all my tiny little savings (about 2K that were meant to be my buffer for any shopping spree) in investment.

So I declared, I’m same as 8 years ago (not age thou), living on a shoestring budget and without savings, for at least a year or two.

Hmm.. to my friends out there, x’mas is coming, and it’s season of giving! so, please remember this tiny little old pal here.. waiting for you..
