Two days later will be DB10 – the testimonial match for Dennis Bergkamp. The match between Arsenal and Ajax will be the last match for Bergkamp in Arsenal, and the first for Emirate Stadiums.
For the past 11 years, he’s not the biggest star in the Gunners’ camp. But definately, he is the one who has contributed the most, as a player, for Arsenal. He got his “Iceman” nick, when he shown us how calm he can be on the pitch. Some of the Gooners call him “God”. Some call him the Dutch master. And to a lot of people, he’s best known as the non-flying-dutchman, as he do not take flights. He’s the most influential player too. We saw his passings that lead to so many goals. I saw Henry’s curling shots and I just feel that he must have learnt it from the master. Cesc might not learn those killer thru pass as fast, if the master was in the house.
Now, Mr. Iceman is leaving. Left behind bags of wonder goals. We’ll remember the goal, and the insane commentator, against Argentina in 1998. How crazy was the goal against Newcastle that most people couldn’t believe it, and rather think that’s just an accident. And the one against Bayern Leverskusen? All those balls that were chipped over keepers, long shots that no keeper can reach and those shots that were taken in all sort of difficult situations.
I think I’m missing him already.
He was full of praise in the quarter final.
He slotted in the winning penalty in the semi.
He placed the penalty just under the bar for France to lead 1-0.
He has shown us there’s no limit for him in football.
And he also shown us the other possibility outside football.

I’m a fan of Zizou, and I want to know more about the incident and I’m pleased that FIFA is going to look into it. But NO, that doesn’t mean that I agree with what he did (headbutt, of course).
